On September 15, 2009 there is a primary for the Democratic Party's nominee for Nyack's Mayor. There are four candidates running for the nomination. The candidates are, in alphabetical order, Denise Hogan, Richard Kavesh, Marie Lorenzini and Marianne Olive.

The deadline for submitting questions has now passed.

If you would like to meet the candidates in person, Friends of the Nyacks is sponsoring a Candidates' Forum on Tuesday, September 1 at 7:30p.m. at The Nyack Center at the corner of South Broadway and Depew Street in Nyack.

Friends of the Nyacks, Inc. posts questions to candidates in the primary and the candidates' responses as a public service. Friends does not favor or endorse and is completely impartial with respect to any particular candidate in the upcoming primary election. Friends cannot and will not advocate that you vote for any particular candidate.

Friends will forward all questions received to the candidates. We cannot guarantee that the questions will be answered. Friends does not edit the public's questions for content, grammar, spelling, or syntax, except to delete questions which are obscene, or those which contain personal attacks or racial, religious or ethnic slurs or slurs based on the sex of the candidate, sexual preference, age or national origin (which we do not expect). Answers received will be posted verbatim, unless said answers contain obscene material (which we do not expect). Obscene material will be deleted, deletions noted and the balance of the answer will be posted.
